Unique Educational Partnership Will Provide
Bermudians With Online Degree Opportunities
Philadelphia, PA – May 2, 2006 – Drexel University, an established leader in online learning and Philadelphia’s top technological university, recently launched an educational partnership with Bermuda Hospitals Board and Bermuda College, to provide online degree and certificate programs to alumni and employees at special reduced tuition rates.
Through this partnership, Drexel will offer Bermuda College alumni and Bermuda Hospitals Board employees a full catalog of accredited online bachelor’s, master’s and certificate programs in the areas of business, engineering, nursing, technology, education, public health, clinical research and more for a fraction of Drexel’s regular on-campus tuition rates.
The two organizations decided to partner with Drexel University as an online education provider for their alumni and employees because of the continuity between Drexel’s online and on-campus degree and certificate programs. Drexel’s online programs follow the same academic standards, are taught by the same renowned faculty and therefore lead to the same respected degree as the on-campus programs but with no commuting or career interruption.
“Drexel University’s reputation and prestige were two key reasons we were drawn to this partnership,” said Scott Pearman, Director of Human Resources at Bermuda Hospitals Board. “In evaluating this program, we found the flexibility of the Drexel’s online courses to be most in line with the needs of Bermuda residents. This opportunity offers Bermuda residents the chance to advance their education without disrupting their careers. Additionally, the discount offered through Drexel is a great incentive for Bermuda residents to continue their educational advancement,” added Pearman.
For the past several years, Drexel eLearning, the online education subsidiary of Drexel University, has been partnering with corporations, health systems and professional associations alike throughout the United States to provide their employees and members with career advancement opportunities through Quality Education Online at a cost they can afford with the flexibility they need. Now by partnering with Bermuda Hospitals Board and Bermuda College, Drexel has begun to extend their growing partner network internationally.
“We are very excited about the launch of this new partnership and the opportunities we’ll be offering to Bermudians,” said Dr. Kenneth Hartman, Academic Director of Drexel eLearning. “We have established great working relationships with over 95 organizations in the past few years and have played a key role in helping them to provide quality education opportunities for their employees and members. Not only are we looking forward to this exciting partnership with Bermuda College and Bermuda Hospitals Board, but we’re eager to see where this program is headed in establishing Drexel as a global force in the online education arena.”
