Assessment of Prior Learning

You might be closer to your Drexel degree than you think! Credit is granted for documented prior learning, not experience.  The prior learning must be assessed and approved by the Goodwin College.  Drexel University provides assessment of prior learning in the following areas:

Transfer credit from other institutions

Students are evaluated individually and granted credit for courses completed at accredited colleges that are the equivalent of courses offered at Drexel. Goodwin Academic Advisors for Online Undergraduate Program Students can conduct unofficial transfer credit reviews for anyone interested in our online undergraduate degree completion programs. To have your transcripts reviewed, you will need:

Please fax all transcripts/certifications along with the Transfer Credit Evaluation form to Goodwin Academic Advising at 215-895-4988.

External Standardized Examinations

Drexel University recognizes credit earned through the following external standardized exams:

College Level Examination Program (CLEP) http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/about.html

DSST (Formerly known as the DANTES Subject Standardized Tests) http://www.getcollegecredit.com/

Thomas Edison State College Examination Program (TECEP®) http://www.tesc.edu/701.php

Excelsior College Examinations https://www.excelsior.edu/Excelsior_College/Excelsior_College_Examinations

NOTE:  Students must consult with their academic advisor to see how assessment of prior learning might fit into their plan of study.
