Faculty Expertise

Goodwin College has a team of instructors who are well grounded in the latest theory and research in e-learning leadership. In addition, our faculty are experienced practitioners focused on modern applications of e-learning in a variety of corporate and educational settings:

  • Judith Giering, M.S. in Information Systems (Drexel University). Ms. Giering has completed coursework and exams toward a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership Development and Learning Technologies at Drexel University. Ms. Giering is Instructional Designer and adjunct online instructor for Goodwin College. Formerly, Ms. Giering taught IT courses at Reading Area Community College and taught online courses at Peirce College and University of St. Francis. Her teaching experience is paralleled by her practice in assisting major corporations with the development and implementation of online learning programs.
  • Eric Hagan, MBA (Wilmington College). Senior Program Director, Drexel University Online. Mr. Hagan has been on the management team of Drexel University’s innovative for-profit online learning subsidiary, Drexel University Online, since its inception in 2001. Beginning as a small start-up operation, Drexel University Online has grown Drexel’s fully online student population to over 4,000 students and over $40 million in tuition revenue annually. Mr. Hagan’s role is at the critical intersection where academics and business considerations meet, working as a liaison between the for-profit subsidiary and the traditional university. Mr. Hagan has been an instructor at Drexel since 2003, teaching in the areas of client, customer, and project management. In addition, Mr. Hagan is a graduate student in Drexel University’s School of Education.
  • Nick Linardopoulos, M.S. (Drexel University). Instructor. Mr. Linardopoulos has been an online instructor at Drexel University since 2005, where he developed and taught multiple online courses. He is currently writing his dissertation regarding the issues associated with the student and faculty experience in online education at Drexel University.
  • William Lynch, Ph.D. (University of Maryland). Dean of the Goodwin College of Professional Studies. Prior to being appointed Dean of the Goodwin College in 2006, Dr. Lynch served as Director of the School of Education overseeing the development of seven new master's degree programs, an innovative new bachelor's and master's dual degree program, an online bachelor's degree completion program, a minor in education, as well as a full-time Ph.D. and part-time Ed.D. program. Prior to coming to Drexel in 2004, Dr. Lynch served as Vice President for Operations and Acting CEO for GWSolutions Inc. and Executive Director of the Center for Distance and Mediated Learning, George Washington University's continuing education unit. He served for seventeen years as a member of the faculty of the Graduate School of Education at The George Washington University and was the Founding Director of the Educational Technology Leadership Program, GW's first online program. As a result of this program's success, Dr. Lynch received the United States Distance Learning Association's "Most Outstanding Achievement in Distance Learning" award.
  • Ken Hartman, Ed.D. (University of Pennsylvania). Academic Director, Drexel University Online. Dr. Hartman is an internationally renowned educator, having served the past 26-years as a university professor, academic administrator, and consultant at several leading universities, including The University of Pennsylvania, The University of Delaware, New York Institute of Technology, and Drexel University. He is the author of numerous publications related to educational technology (books, articles, CD-ROMs), and formerly a syndicated newspaper columnist, television talk show host, and commissioned military officer. He can also be seen regularly on NBC10 (Philadelphia), as the station's on-air technology contributor. Recent awards and honors include: the 2006 Partners in Education Award from the Pennsylvania Association for College Admission Counseling, the 2006 Drexel School of Education’s Faculty Fellow and Associate Award, and the 2007 Penn Educator of the Year Award from The University of Pennsylvania.
