Graduates are expected to serve as leaders in their chosen area of interest by incorporating various management and theoretical perspectives acquired through Drexel's multidisciplinary training and to influential posts in sporting companies and organizations.
Students in the M.S. in Sport Management program will expand upon previous undergraduate education and develop the ability to:
Practitioner Faculty: Learn from those who know the industry first-hand. As active professionals in the sport industry, our full-time and adjunct faculty members bring a wealth of past and current experience to the classroom giving students unique opportunities to learn about the sport industry from experienced professionals.
Experiential Learning: Whether it's a tour of Lincoln Financial Field, a lecture at Citizen's Bank Ballpark by Philadelphia Phillies President David Montgomery, a trip to the local YMCA, or a Drexel co-op position with the Philadelphia Flyers, it's all about the experience. Drexel's Sports Management degree online incorporates classroom learning with real-world know-how to give students an integrated and experiential learning environment.
Sports Business Curriculum: Sports are big business and our Sport Management program is centered on that business. The sport industry is unique, however, and it's not always business as usual. Drexel's curriculum prepares students for a sport management career through fundamental business principles and their application to the sport industry.
Philadelphia Sports: There's no better city to be a sports fan than Philadelphia! Philadelphia is one of a small handful of cities with a professional franchise in all four major league sports. Rich in professional and collegiate athletic history, Philadelphia is also home to a number of top sport management agencies and businesses, making it an excellent environment to study the sport industry.
Global Connections: Sport is a common denominator in the global village and Drexel's online sports management degree program facilitates global learning and research through developing student learning opportunities that reach far beyond the Philadelphia city limits and into international borders. Drexel Sport Management has created a competitive global playing field for its students by exploring the international sport community.
