Curriculum
The MBA Anywhere™ program (Drexel University's AACSB accredited Online MBA program) consists of 60 credits (20 courses) offered in a cohorted format, which provides individuals with the opportunity to progress through the online MBA program with the same group of students over a 24 month period. The program offers the option to specialize in Finance, Engineering Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or Information Systems Strategy (these specializations are subject to change based on market demand).
This online MBA program also features three on-site seminars, also known as residencies. The on-site seminars are three to four-day, intensive courses that are exclusive to the MBA Anywhere™ program. All of these seminars are located on Drexel's campus in Philadelphia.

Course Descriptions
BUSN 611 Residency #1: Dean’s Challenge I – Business Simulation – Individual Problem Solving and Group Skills
This course focuses on the interdependencies among the various functional areas of the enterprise, as well as decision processes within these areas. It emphasizes team building and shared learning. The focus is on the need to integrate strategic and operational concepts, issues, and decisions in moving a technological enterprise from start-up through an initial public offering (IPO) to a multi-market manufacturing firm. A management simulation is used as a vehicle for focusing on the knowledge required for effective evaluation and management of the business enterprise, as well as for developing effective and efficient teamwork.

BUSN 501: Measuring and Maximizing Financial Performance
Provides an introduction to the concepts of financial accounting and financial management. The content of this course includes preparation and analysis of financial statements. Also covered are the time value of money, risk and return, and corporate financing choices.

BUSN 503: The External Environment of Business
Explores business from a perspective that is broader than the firm or manager level. It examines the role of business in a society, the conflicts that may occur between business and society, and the legal framework that society has developed to regulate business.

MIS 641: MIS Policy & Strategy
Ties together concepts from all areas of management and the economic, behavioral, functional, and technical aspects of MIS. Defines overall and context-specific information needs of organizations and focuses on the role of MIS in meeting these needs. Examines alternatives for matching MIS department structures and operations to the structures, strategies, and behaviors of organizations. Also investigates, proposes and analyzes management policy issues relating to the management of the MIS function.

BUSN 502: Essentials of Economics
Covers topics in macroeconomics and microeconomics, including market equilibrium, monetary and fiscal policy, profit maximization and market failure.

ORGB 631: Leading Effective Organizations
Prepares students to make informed decisions as leaders in common institutional and environmental contexts. The focus of the contingency-based perspective of this course is to help leaders understand how best to motivate and coordinate employees and to control outcomes in a manner that ensures they fulfill strategic objectives.

STAT 601: Business Statistics
Focuses on the basic principles and implementation techniques of analysis of variance, simple and multiple regression analysis, and statistical process control. An understanding of how these tools can support managerial decision making is also emphasized.

STAT 634 Residency #2: Six Sigma
Six Sigma has been a popular management methodology for improving processes and products in manufacturing and service organizations. Motorola first made Six Sigma popular in the 1980's, Allied Signals embraced it in the early 1990's, and then General Electric made the most popular management philosophy in history. Six Sigma teaches how the employees of an organization can come up with new ideas and implement those ideas in order to make organizations more effective and efficient without services of external consultants. Upon completion of this course, participants will understand the Six Sigma methodology, Six Sigma metrics, and analytical skills for solving many Six Sigma projects. This course includes several exercises to reinforce key course concepts. These exercises require Microsoft Excel skills rather than an advanced statistical software package.

POM 601: Operations Management
Intended as an introduction to the fields of production and operations management (POM). Production and operations activities, such as forecasting, capacity and inventory, scheduling activities and assuring qualities are discussed from the perspective of the supply chain. The philosophy of Just-In-Time (JIT) and responsive manufacturing/service is highlighted.

ORGB 625: Leadership and Professional Development
Helps students develop knowledge and skills to enhance their professional development and to become effective leaders. Students will understand trends in contemporary organizations, enhance their self-awareness, refine their interpersonal skills and apply these skills to improve their work effectiveness.

INTB 620 Residency #3: International Residency (Dates and location TBD) or INTB 620 Course
Delivered either as an international residency or as a full-term course in the final term. Examines decision-making in international business operations, including evaluation of role and policies of the multinational firm. Covers topics including community relations, labor relations, and personnel and financial management.

MGMT 780: Strategic Management
Provides an integrative study of the functions and responsibilities of top management and the strategies that affect the character and success of the total enterprise. Uses case studies and assigned readings to develop the viewpoint of top management charged with responsibility for the enterprise as a whole.
