Accreditation & State Certification
Drexel's Bachelor of Science program is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education under its rigorous guidelines for teacher certification preparation programs. Students who complete the program are recommended for Pennsylvania teacher certification; however, Drexel School of Education academic advisors assist students who wish to transfer certification to another state. In most cases, Pennsylvania's rigorous certification guidelines provide for a smooth transition of certification to other states.
Non-Certification Option
In addition to preparing students to be K-6 teachers, Drexel's Online Bachelor's degree in Education program provides a strong background and preparation for students who wish to pursue careers in human resources development, corporate training, higher education and related fields. Under the non-certification option, those not planning to pursue K-6 teaching can skip the student teaching placement.
