How Online Learning Works

Fully Online, Highly Interactive Online Learning Method

Delivered fully Online, through Drexel's highly interactive online learning method, this program offers unprecedented convenience and flexibility for working professionals.

  • Online programs are the same as on-campus programs
  • 24/7 online access - study anytime
  • Regular interaction with professors and classmates

On Campus, Online, Same Program

This online program follows the same policies and rigorous academic standards as the one taught on campus at Drexel University. There is no distinction between on-campus and e-learning students.

In fact, when you complete this program, your diploma and university transcript will be the same as those students who earn their degrees on campus.

All a student needs is a personal computer with an Internet connection and a web browser to access our online learning environment. Instructional materials are available mostly as text or graphics. Audio and video formats are also available. All materials are available online 24/7. Students can download and print them as they wish.

Study Anytime

Instruction is delivered primarily asynchronously. This means that professors and students are not physically online at the same time. Students work with materials either on their own or in discussion groups. They interact directly with each other and with their faculty typically through e-mail and threaded discussions (online discussion boards). Other communications facilities include chat and web-based whiteboard tools.

All readings, work sessions, assignments and other tasks are pre-specified and monitored on a continuous basis. Written assignments are submitted online. Exams are taken online. Access to grades and feedback from instructors is provided online.

You are Not Alone

Students are not left alone in this program. Our online learning method encourages -- and often requires -- interaction and networking among the select group of professionals who attend.
