Today's leaders need the skills and practical knowledge to work within the context of global economic, political, cultural, and community influences on education.

Drexel University's accredited online Master's in Global and International Education equips students with an advanced understanding of education in an international context.

Graduates of this program will:

  • Be educated on global trends and issues in the field of education
  • Recognize the various dimensions of educational interventions

  • Provide critique on international, comparative, and educational research.

The School of Education's Master's of Science in Global and International Education will prepare students to work effectively with the complex global challenges, trends, and issues influencing education and learning in diverse parts of the world, including the United States.

Key Program Features:

  • Graduates from the MS in Global and International Education program will develop, analyze and implement new educational policies in a variety of multi-cultural settings.
  • Students will exhibit outstanding leadership, organizational, cross-cultural, interpersonal, and advocacy skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external groups using present and emerging communication and information technologies.
  • Students will have in-depth knowledge regarding both public and private (non-profit and for-profit) institutions as well as small and large institutions and multi-campus institutions.

Optional Study Abroad Opportunities

The accredited MS in Global and International Education program offers study abroad opportunities during the summer term each year. These programs are designed for working professionals who are unable to spend more than two weeks away. This summer, the program is excited to announce a study abroad opportunity in Vietnam. Students will visit important historical sites and meet with local experts, likely to include key diplomats, policy-makers, political leaders and educators. This is a rare and wonderful opportunity for students to expand their knowledge of how policy-makers in the US and in Vietnam mobilize education for diplomatic goals, and the role that teachers and students play in promoting diplomacy.

Global Education Colloquium

The MS in Global and International Education program hosts the Global Education Colloquium on the third Tuesday of every month. Each month, the GEC features a distinguished speaker and lively discussion. The topics presented are the result of research spanning the full range of learning, teaching and training topics including international studies, higher education, peace education, social justice, inequality, politics of knowledge, policy, leadership and organizational change.
