  • Master of Legal Studies

    Overview

    The Online Master of Legal Studies offered by Drexel’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law provides professionals seeking advanced legal knowledge with an in-depth, specialized study of the legal system. This post-baccalaureate degree program is designed for individuals to develop and improve career related skills.

    Ideal candidates include individuals in health care, college sports, finance, law enforcement, employment relations, and more. Upon completion of the program, graduates will understand how the law applies to the fields in which they work.

    Specialization Areas

    • Criminal Law - Applicable in fields such as law enforcement, probation and parole, corrections, social work, immigration and customs and the military
    • Health Care Compliance - Provides those who deliver health care services with the tools to ensure that state and federal regulatory requirements are being met
    • Human Resources Compliance - Provides in-depth study of crucial issues in human resources rules and regulations such as employee hiring and termination, managing the employer/employee relationship and negotiation, mediation and alternative dispute resolution
    • NCAA Compliance and Sports Law - Provides the tools to ensure that collegiate athletics programs are complying with NCAA requirements in areas such as contracts, labor law, antitrust, tax, torts, remedies, arbitration and constitutional law

    Admissions Criteria

    • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution

    Required Documents

    • A completed application
    • Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended
    • Two letters of recommendation (professional or academic)
    • Personal statement of one to two pages outlining the personal and/or professional goals you hope to achieve through the program

    Tuition

    The tuition rate for the academic year 2015-2016 is $1142 per credit.

    This rate applies only to new online matriculated students. Students receiving special tuition plans with Drexel Online may not combine them with other tuition benefits that may be available from Drexel University.

    This program is eligible for Financial Aid. We also offer tuition reduction through our network of partner companies and organizations, and for Drexel University alumni and those in the military.
