Drexel University is a comprehensive research university located in Philadelphia. Drexel is perhaps best known for the cooperative education program (Co-op), regularly ranked as the best co-op programs in the United States. Participating students have a variety of opportunities to gain up to 18-month paid full-time working experience before graduation. Students can choose from more than 1,200 co-op employers in 28 states and 25 international locations, or conduct an independent search. The average six-month co-op salary is $15,912. Students obtain positions with major corporations such as GlaxoSmithKline, Unisys Corporation, Microsoft, Lockheed Martin, Comcast, and QVC, Inc.

In 2010, Times Higher Education World University Rankings placed Drexel 190th in the World and 76th in North America.
For the eighth consecutive year, Drexel has been ranked in the category of Best National Universities in “America's Best Colleges” by U.S.News & World Report. The University placed 86th overall in the 2011 rankings, a jump of two places from 2010 and the third straight time Drexel has been in the top 100.

Drexel also ranked second among national universities in the U.S. News list of “Up-and-Comers,” those schools most often cited by university administrators nationwide as making “the most promising and innovative changes in the areas of academics, faculty, student life, campus, or facilities.” Drexel has been in the top 10 each of the three years this list has been published.
U.S. News also ranked Drexel's College of Engineering's undergraduate program 52nd among engineering schools that award doctoral degrees.

DesignIntelligence ranked The Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design interior design programs among the top 10 in the nation The undergraduate program ranks sixth, and the graduate, ninth.
Businessweek ranked The Bennett S. LeBow College of Business part-time MBA program No. 1 in the nation for academic quality.

The Princeton Review named Drexel 6th on their list of "2010 Top Entrepreneurial Programs: Undergraduate."
