Admissions Criteria

Enrollment Counselors are available to assist you through all steps of the admissions process. Students  can contact the RN-BSN Enrollment Counselors, at  877.215.0009, or via email  at  info@drexelBSN.com. Listed below are the criteria for acceptance into the RN-BSN program.

  • A completed application form to the undergraduate nursing program.
  • Current, unrestricted U.S. RN licensure (provisional acceptance will generally be offered pending successful completion of the NCLEX-RN examination). License verification from your nursing license registry website is acceptable.
  • College GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Your applicantion  will be reviewed prior to taking the NCLEX exam, but in order to begin the program you must have an active license.
  • Associates degree or diploma in nursing.
  • If you have taken the CLEP or AP exam please submit your official report scores along with your application.
  • Official transcripts from all universities or colleges and other post-secondary educational institutions (including trade schools) attended. Instead of hard copy transcripts, you may supply official electronic transcripts issued by a post-secondary institution directly to Drexel University Online (use our email address, customerservice@drexel.com).  You must supply transcripts regardless of the number of credits earned or the type of school you attended.  If you do not list all post-secondary institutions on your application and these are listed on transcripts received from other institutions, processing of your application will be delayed until you have submitted the remaining transcripts. Use the Transcript Lookup Tool to assist you in contacting your previous institutions. 
  • Official transcripts must show that 60 semester hours of college prerequisites with grade of C or better were acquired in*:
    • Nursing - 30 hours
    • English (including one semester of composition) - 6 hours
    • Humanities (studio courses not acceptable) - 3 hours
    • Anatomy and Physiology - 8 hours
    • Microbiology - 4 hours
    • Sociology - 3 hours
    • Growth and Development - 3 hours
    • Psychology - 3 hours
  • If you attended a Diploma School of Nursing and the school was affiliated with a college/university, the official transcript must be submitted from the college for any non-nursing courses for which you received credit.
