Financial Aid: Investing in a Better U.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

The FAFSA, which needs to be completed every academic year, determines a student’s eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid.

Types of aid that a student may be eligible for include:

  • Federal Pell Grants
  • State Grants
  • Federal Stafford Loans

Your first step is to file your Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the official application all students must complete to be considered for financial aid. Your FAFSA form will help qualify you for federal, state, or institutional aid and is required by all applicants, even if you do not intend to use financial aid.

You may file your FAFSA as early as January 1 prior to the academic year (January 1, 2008 for the Fall 2008 term).

Drexel University and Drexel University Online's school code is 003256.

Tips for Applying

The best time to file your FAFSA application is between January 1st and May 1st of the year you plan on attending Drexel University. While FAFSA applications are accepted and processed on a rolling basis, financial aid may not be available the longer you wait.

You must renew your application every year. If you have previously filed a FAFSA application online, you must file a renewal application online by May 1st in order to become eligible for the next academic year.

Institutional Financial Aid Application

The Institutional Financial Aid Application must be completed by all online students. The supplementary information provided on this form will enable the Financial Aid Office to correctly process your financial aid.
