Post-Bachelor's Teaching Certificate - Grades PreK-4 Education
Post-Bachelor's Teaching Certificate - Secondary Education
This certificate program is designed for individuals who hold a Bachelor’s degree and who seek to qualify for state teacher certification at the elementary or secondary level. Through inter-state agreements, this Pennsylvania-approved teaching credential is also valid for teaching in other states. Students completing the teaching certification program may continue coursework to earn a Master's Degree in Teaching (MS in Teaching, Learning and Curriculum: Teacher Certification Track - Grades PreK-4 or Secondary Education) online. Students intending to teach in PA have the option of obtaining a Graduate Intern Teaching Certificate.
Graduate Intern Teaching Certificate - Secondary Education
This program is identical to our Post-Bachelor's Teaching Certificate, leading to a formal teaching credential which through the inter-state agreement can be applied nationwide. It is designed for career-changers with a Bachelor's in another field, or for those who already serve as temporary, emergency or substitute teachers. The extra feature of this program is that completion of only two courses leads to an Intern Teacher Certificate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This feature makes it particularly appropriate for those who would like to start teaching in Pennsylvania.
This is an add-on certificate available to students that currently possess a K-12 teaching certificate and want to become instructors of English as a Second Language.
